Along with mega classics like Pineapple Express, Harold & Kumar and Friday, there are a whole bunch of movies created to appeal to cannabis lovers.
Our team has put together a list of our 6 most favorite stoner movies for a successful 420 night.
1- SUPERBAD
Does McLovin ring a bell? If not, you MUST watch Superbad right away. This perfectly humorous film features two teenage best friends who engage in a quest to find lots of booze for one of the few parties they are invited to. The ultimate goal? Seducing girls, of course.
Anyone who has ever seen the movie Superbad unanimously agrees that it is a must-see classic. Plus, to our delight, the characters are based on Seth Rogen as well as his two childhood best friends, Evan Goldberg and Sam Fogell. Even though it came out in 2007, it is still hilarious.
"Seth and Evan are best friends, inseparable, navigating the last weeks of high school. Usually shunned by the popular kids, Seth and Evan luck into an invitation to a party, and spend a long day, with the help of their nerdy friend Fogell, trying to score enough alcohol to lubricate the party and inebriate two girls, Jules and Becca, so they can kick-start their sex lives and go off to college with a summer full of experience and new skills. Their quest is complicated by Fogell's falling in with two inept cops who both slow and assist the plan. If they do get the liquor to the party, what then? Is sex the only rite of passage at hand?" 2- TED
The movie Ted tells the story of John, whose teddy bear comes to life as a result of a wish made during his childhood. Over the years, Ted literally becomes John's best friend and wants to party constantly, to the dismay of his girlfriend Lori. The best part: the teddy bear smokes cannabis during the entire movie.
While being very funny and quite foul-mouthed, Ted features a very special relationship between two best friends. Even though it's a humorous comedy, there's definitely a cuteness to the movie.
"John makes a Christmas miracle happen by bringing his one and only friend to life, his teddy bear. The two grow up together and John must then choose to stay with his girlfriend or keep his friendship with his crude and extremely inappropriate teddy bear, Ted." ( 2 )
3- KID CANNABIS
This 2014 film features two friends who, one day, decide to start trafficking cannabis. To do so, they orchestrate its illegal transportation from the Canadian border. Their business grows extremely fast, but the more successful they become, the more trouble they get into.
Kid Cannabis is very different from other typical stoner movies. While it is funny at times, it is not a comedy, but rather an action-packed comedy-drama that keeps us on the edge of our seats until the very end.
"An eighteen-year-old high school drop out and his twenty-seven-year-old friend start trafficking marijuana across the border of Canada in order to make money and their lives are changed forever." ( 3 )
4 - MAC & DEVIN GO TO HIGH SCHOOL
We’ve personally never seen this film, but it is definitely next on our list!
Mac & Devin go to High School features the ultimate cannabis legends: Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa! The film opens with a big live joint chatting with us. That gives you a good idea of what this movie is all about. This is simply a must-see for the 420 community.

5- SAUSAGE PARTY
Sausage Party is an animated film, but don't be fooled: this comedy is very trashy (but so funny)! It tells the story of the food on the grocery store shelves who dream of the day when a human will finally choose them. Unfortunately, they realize that this dream is far from what they expected.
This production featuring the famous "bffs" Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg is pure genius. It shows us a side of food like never seen before and many connections can be made to real life. This film straight from the minds of two cannabis enthusiasts is certainly a good late 420-night option!
"The products at Shopwell's Grocery Store are made to believe a code that helps them live happy lives until it's time for them to leave the comfort of the supermarket and head for the great beyond. However, after a botched trip to the great beyond leaves one sausage named Frank and his companion Bun stranded, Frank goes to great lengths (pun intended) to return to his package and make another trip to the great beyond. But as Frank's journey takes him from one end of the supermarket to the other, Frank's quest to discover the truth about his existence as a sausage turns incredibly dark. Can he expose the truth to the rest of the supermarket and get his fellow products to rebel against their human masters?" ( 5 )
6- THIS IS THE END
We saved the best for last. This is the end, it's our team's favorite movie. The actors play their own roles and keep their real names, which makes it even better. In this humorous feature film, James invites several celebrities to his housewarming party, but during the party, the Apocalypse (no less) happens and the characters have to try to survive in the midst of all the commotion.
In addition to making you laugh out loud on several occasions, This is the end features a more than perfect cast, from Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill to none other than Emma Watson and Rihanna.
"All Jay Baruchel expected coming to LA was a fun time with Seth Rogen with all the wild partying to have both by themselves and at James Franco's housewarming party. Suddenly, the Rapture hits and the Biblical Apocalypse has begun. Now, Jay and Seth are desperately sheltering in James' house for rescue along with a few other friends. Together, they must band together to attempt to survive the end of the world, only for Jay to find that they are all too dumb and superficial to do it until they discover the only way out." ( 6 )
